El Prado Golf Courses, is a Public, 36 hole golf facility located in Chino, California. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses. They are, The Chino Creek Course and The Butterfield Stage Course.
The courses were designed by architects Harry and David Rainville. Chino Creek golf course opened first opened for play in 1970. The Butterfield Stage Course opened in 1976.
Early in California statehood pioneers traveled to the wild-west. The stagecoach made the 2700 mile journey from St. Louis to San Francisco. The "Butterfield Stage" course was named after a stagecoach stop local to the golf course property, the "Chino Creek" course was named for the rivers and creeks the stagecoach crossed.
Both golf courses are enjoyable for all levels of players. With wide-open fairways, large mature trees and just enough bunkers and water holes to make your day memorable. El Prado Golf Course is said to be user friendly and easy to walk over the most gentle of rolling hills. The greens on these courses are medium in size and hold very well because of the soft textured surfaces. The fairways are both narrow and wide. The two courses are heavily wooded and there are some elevated greens. The Chino Creek Course has a creek that meanders throughout the back nine and comes into play on a few holes. The Butterfield Stage Course has three lakes that come into play on seven holes.
Par for the El Prado Golf Courses, Butterfield Stage Course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,508 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,503 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 524 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 143 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 374 yard par-4 challenge and the #2 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The Butterfield Stage Course is # 8, the 143 yard par-3.

Readily accessible. Fair challenge. Fairways were spotty in part. The worst part were the flies, especially on the north end of the course near the neighboring dairy.
